Hoyetchmen’s annual Mother’s Day ceremony

March 20, 2021

On Saturday, 20th of March 2021, Hoyetchmen’s annual Mother’s Day ceremony took place in the Tekeyan hall, organized by the Young Ladies’ Committee. The ceremony started with a moment of silence in memory of all the mothers we have lost. This was followed by opening remarks by Engerouhi Nicole Kassabian, who invited the speaker of the day, Mrs. Sona Kopoushian, to deliver her speech. After the speeches, participants of the artistic section of the program were invited to the stage, including Engerouhi Meghry Kalaydjian, Narine and Aida Gejekoushian and Karin Kahkedjian, who entertained the audience with their beautiful voices.

Later, Enger Sarkis Gejekoushian recited an Armenian poem written by Hovhannes Shiraz dedicated to all mothers. We were also happy to debut Hoyetchmen’s reassembled Armenian folk dance group, led by engerouhi Talar Hagopian, who performed two dances, including “Tamzara” and “Papouri”. The evening continued in a typical warm “Hoyechmenagan”  atmosphere, led by Enger Vino Kahkedjian, accompanied by Enger Krikor Gejekoushian on the keyboard.
During the event, presents were distributed to all mothers from the Committee members, as well as special presents to the lucky mother of the day, as well as to the lucky person of the day. At the end of the event, our folk dance group led the audience members to dance to the song “Hampartzum”, ending the evening on a very high note.
Hoyetchmen’s Executive and Young Ladies’ Committees would like to wish all mothers health, strength and might.
